Adwait Yoga School · Practice, study and teaching
Build your practice. Develop the foundations to teach.
Study yoga through guided practice, philosophy, anatomy and teaching experience. Join our four-week 200-hour yoga teacher training online via live Zoom or in person in India, with residential and non-residential options.
Online trainees receive session recordings and study materials alongside live Zoom training.
A foundation for thoughtful practice
A 200-hour yoga teacher training brings together the practical and theoretical foundations of yoga. At Adwait Yoga School, you explore how movement, breath, attention and philosophy inform one another—and how to communicate that understanding in a class.
The course combines asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga humanities, anatomy and professional skills. You study traditional ideas alongside functional movement and teaching methods, with an emphasis on observation, clear instruction and adapting practice to different needs.
You can join to prepare for foundational teaching or to deepen your own understanding. Training is a starting point for continued learning, personal practice and experience.
One course · Three ways to join
All three options run over four weeks. Choose the format that suits your location and daily commitments, then confirm the batch timetable with the school before enrolling.

Four connected areas of study
Explore practical techniques, the body, yoga traditions and the skills needed to guide a class. The syllabus below groups the course topics into four areas. Open each topic to see what it covers.
Topics involving demanding postures, breath techniques or cleansing practices require suitable preparation and individual guidance. Studying a technique does not mean every trainee must perform it in the same way.
Make room for learning
The 200-hour designation describes the training, while four weeks describes the course period. Check the complete timetable so you understand the commitment beyond any single live session.
For online learning, arrange a stable internet connection, a camera-enabled device and enough clear space for your mat. Position the camera so your teacher can see your practice, and keep your study materials accessible.
The course welcomes beginners and practitioners seeking a foundation in yoga teaching. No university degree is required. A working understanding of English is needed for classes, study materials and discussions.
Ask the school about age requirements, preparation and individual suitability before applying. Share any practice limitations relevant to your participation so that adaptations and support can be discussed.
Advanced flexibility is not the goal. Consistent participation, willingness to learn and respect for others are central to the training experience.

Understand your qualification
After successfully completing the training and assessment requirements, you receive a 200-hour course-completion certificate from Adwait Yoga School. Our published assessment pass mark is 60%; confirm the attendance, practical assessment and make-up requirements for your batch before enrolling.
Your certificate documents the training you have completed with the school. It is the foundation for continued personal practice and the development of teaching experience.
Read our school credentials and discuss the registration pathway for your chosen delivery format with us before applying.
RYT 200 is a separate Yoga Alliance registration. Graduates of an eligible 200-hour Registered Yoga School program may apply to Yoga Alliance with their training certificate, subject to its current requirements, application process and fees.
See Yoga Alliance’s teacher registration guidance and school directory. Completing a course does not automatically create an RYT registration.
A course certificate or registry credential does not, by itself, guarantee employment or permission to work in every country. Check the requirements of your intended teaching setting. Advanced credentials such as E-RYT 500 require additional training and teaching experience.
