The ancient science of Kundalini Yoga focuses on balancing the glandular system, strengthening the nervous system and promoting healing. It also enhances radiance, emotional balance and intuition.

Kundalini Yoga is a holistic healing technology that improves the functioning of your body and mind. It balances the glandular system, strengthens your nervous system and helps to eliminate negative habit patterns.

It combines breath (pranayam), hand position (mudra), eye-focus (drishte), chanting (mantra) and postures (asana). These techniques are designed to bring you back into your center.

Breathing Techniques

In Kundalini Yoga, breathing exercises (also known as kriyas) are a vital part of the practice. They help you focus your mind and control the ‘prana’, or vital life force.

Breathing is an unconscious activity, but you can learn to use it to improve your health and wellbeing by regulating and controlling it. When you breathe properly, you can feel more relaxed and less stressed.

During the Kundalini Yoga Workshop, you’ll learn how to use breathing techniques to relax your body and enhance your sense of well-being. Using breathwork is an important component of Kundalini Yoga because it raises the coiled energy that lies deep within your spine, known as Kundalini.

There are many different breathing techniques you can try out, depending on your level of fitness and experience. Some, such as Breath of Fire, are more intense and can strengthen your core muscles while helping to alleviate back pain.

Other breathing techniques, such as Nadi Shodhan Pranayama and Bhramari Pranayama, are more relaxing and can improve your mood. They also have the added benefit of balancing the left and right hemispheres of your brain.

When you’re practicing a breathing technique, the instructor will guide you through the specific movements that you need to do to complete it. These movements can be as simple as bending forward or stretching up and down. They can also be more complex, such as standing in a certain posture for an extended period of time, or even rotating the body in ways you’ve never done before!

The breathing techniques in a Kundalini Yoga session can be quite challenging at first, but you’ll eventually get used to them. The key is to commit to your class and keep coming back for more.

One of the most effective breathing exercises in Kundalini Yoga is a simple sequence called Alternate Nostril Breathing. This breathing exercise helps to balance the left and right hemispheres in your brain, calm anxiety and reduce stress, promote a more balanced mood and increase the production of serotonin, or the happy hormone.

You can practice this sequence any time you want to relax or rejuvenate. It’s especially helpful after a stressful day or before bed. You can also do it before a physical workout to prepare your body for the next step.

Mantra

Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic practice combining postures, breathing techniques, meditation, mudras, and mantra. It cultivates creativity, truthfulness, compassion and the consciousness to heal oneself and serve others.

Chanting a mantra is an essential part of a Kundalini Yoga Workshop. Mantras provide vibrations that can resonate throughout the entire energetic body and are a powerful tool for tapping into the subconscious.

The mantras used in a Kundalini Yoga class help to elevate the kundalini energy, which is located at the base of the spine. They also bring balance to the chakras and create a feeling of spiritual connection.

Some of the best-known mantras include “ONG SO HUNG”, which is a heart-opening chant that opens the throat, and “PRANA, APANA, SUSHUMNA, HARI, HAR, HARI” which is used to draw healing energy up the spine.

There are also many other powerful mantras that can be chanted during a Kundalini Yoga Workshop. Some of the most common are: ADI SHAKTI, NAMO SHAKTI, SARAB SHAKTI, PRITHUM BHAGAWATI and MATA SHAKTI.

These mantras are said to activate the primal protective, generating energy of the divine mother and can also be chanted to eliminate fears and fulfill desires.

Another mantra that is a favorite in a Kundalini Yoga Workshop is the “AKAL, MAHA KAL”, which is a powerful life-giving chant that removes fear and relaxes the mind. This chant is also used to evoke the divine presence of Guru Ram Das, a revered Guru in the Sikh tradition who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West.

Regardless of the mantra, a good rule of thumb is to be aware of the tone and rhythm of your voice when reciting the mantra. Avoid saying things that might be harsh or negative and instead use positive words to express yourself. This can help to keep you calm and relaxed during the class and may even inspire you to leave the session feeling more joyful and uplifted.

Meditation

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient meditation tradition that uses breathing techniques, postures (asana) and mantras (sound vibration) to awaken, energize and rebalance the glandular, circulatory and nervous systems. It’s a powerful practice that can help you clear away emotional blockages and develop a more holistic approach to health.

A typical class starts with a brief introduction and instruction, followed by a series of movements done simultaneously to conscious breathing. Then, the teacher will guide you through a meditation that incorporates chanting and sound vibration.

You’ll be sitting comfortably on a cushioned mat, either barefoot or with socks and a supportive top layer of cloth covering your feet. You’ll want to keep your eyes closed and focus on a specific point on the front of your forehead.

This brow point is called your third eye, and it’s located just above the eyebrows and up a bit. You’ll divide your breath into four parts as you inhale, and then exhale slowly and deeply. You’ll repeat this process for 7-8 seconds each time.

Many people find it easier to meditate when they have a buddy or a class with someone who’s experienced. You can also do a self-guided practice on your own if you prefer.

There’s no set time for a meditation, but it can be done anytime throughout the day to promote peace and relaxation. In a class setting, you can feel more comfortable asking questions and communicating with the instructor about any issues that arise.

During a workshop, you’ll also get the chance to connect with other yogis and share your experience in a group. The spirit of the class is that everyone is welcomed, no matter what their level of experience is.

The practice of yoga is rooted in Hinduism, and Kundalini Yoga is an extension of that. It’s an effective form of healing for those with physical or mental illnesses and also for those who simply want to experience more inner peace.

While the exact origins of this meditation are not known, it is believed to be based on the idea that each person carries “divine” energy at the base of their spine. The goal of kundalini yoga is to awaken this energy so that you can access your higher self.

Relaxation

Kundalini Yoga Workshops include a variety of relaxation techniques to help you get the most out of your experience. Some of these techniques are specific to kundalini yoga, while others are common to meditation in general. These methods can be helpful for releasing stress, easing anxiety, and increasing energy.

The first technique that you may be introduced to during a kundalini class is a chanting practice designed to “tune in” to your body and prepare for meditation. This chant will also be used as a way to open your chakras, which are energetic centers within your body that affect your overall wellbeing.

Another technique is to take deep breaths, which can be a powerful way to relax and focus inward. To do this, you’ll seal your mouth and exhale through your nose at a rate of about two or three breaths per second. This will help to increase your oxygen levels and keep you energized.

A third technique is to focus on your palms, which can be helpful for bringing in energy from the cosmos. It will also help to energize your heart circulation and power of healing.

During a Kundalini Yoga Workshop, you can expect to practice a variety of breathing techniques and kriyas (a series of postures), which are paired with relaxation exercises to promote inner calm and peace. These exercises are also meant to boost your immune system, improve your sleep quality, and enhance your mental health.

Some Kundalini classes will also incorporate meditation into their workouts, which can be a great way to decompress after a long day and refocus your mind. These meditations can be very effective in helping to alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression.

These techniques can also be used in everyday life, to help you stay calm and focused when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Some people even find that the techniques are helpful when they’re dealing with pain or other physical issues, as they can help to reduce feelings of stress and tension.

These relaxation techniques are all part of a broader approach to meditating that includes body locks and other poses, as well as breath and sound currents. These practices are thought to be useful for balancing the glandular system, strengthening the nervous system, and expanding lung capacity. They can also help to cleanse the blood and purify the soul, which are key components to achieving a balanced state of well-being.
